Websites for Independent Health Practitioners: First Visits Booked, Nothing Leaked

A practitioner’s website has to do two things: book the first visit, and never embarrass you. Acupuncturists were among our first clients, in Australia, and two of their clinic sites have been with us since 2017 and 2019. The same site works for chiropractors, physical therapists, nutritionists and hypnotherapists, because the patient’s questions are the same: do you treat what I have, what happens at the first visit, what does it cost, where are you, and how do I book.

What the site has to show

What you treat, in the patient’s words. People search for the problem, not the modality. A page per condition, written plainly and honestly about what the treatment can and cannot do, is what gets found and what gets booked.

The first visit, explained. What to expect, how long it takes, what to bring, what it costs. The page that removes the fear is the page that books.

Booking that works on a phone. Your scheduling system embedded or linked, with the phone number next to it for the people who would rather call.

Fees, if you are willing to show them. Practitioners who show fees get fewer calls from people who were never going to come and more from people who were.

Credentials and the licence. The state licence number, the credentials spelled out, the professional associations named. Patients check.

Nothing leaked. No contact form that stores health details in a plugin’s database, no analytics or advertising pixel on a page where a patient describes a condition, no booking widget that sends more than it needs to a third party. We set the site up so that it collects the least it can, and we say in the privacy page what it does collect.

Accessibility. A practitioner’s site is read by people in pain, with poor eyesight, on small screens. It has to work for all of them, and the public accessibility standard is also what the law looks at when a demand letter is written.

What we do for practitioners

Website management: the site, built or taken over, hosted on our managed servers, updated, backed up, secured, changed when you need it.

Optimization: the Business Profile, the condition pages, the articles that answer what patients search for, the AI answers, and the reporting that shows what books.

PPC management: Google Ads for a practice, with a landing page built for the booking and a stated minimum budget. For most practices we recommend the slow route first.

A note on template sites

There are companies that sell practitioners a templated site for a low monthly fee. For a practice that only needs an address and a phone number, that can be enough. What those sites do not do is get found for the conditions you treat, load fast on a phone, or answer to a person when something breaks. We say which you need at the consultation, and sometimes the answer is the template.
